Application Software

The ROG Azoth Extreme keyboard comes with Armoury Crate software, making it easy to customize settings like RGB lighting, key assignments, macro recording, and the control knob. This software lets you add custom images and animations to the OLED screen and track system performance. Armoury Crate serves as a central place for setting up the ROG Azoth Extreme, just as it does for other Asus accessories. It enables users to rearrange keys, tailor the OLED display and control knob, and change lighting effects. The software also provides access to power management, firmware updates, and Aura Sync, which coordinates lighting across multiple Asus devices.

The keyboard also supports on-the-fly macro creation, allowing users to set up and use macros without the software. The control knob has several default functions that can be toggled by pressing the side button. These include managing system volume, navigating media tracks, and adjusting keyboard and OLED brightness. The OLED display can show static or animated graphics from Asus or uploaded by the user. It can also display the date, time, laptop battery status, hardware information, and keystrokes per second. The default setting shows graphics and keystrokes per second, but other displays can be activated in Armoury Crate. Users can switch between display modes by swiping left or right and access specific mode settings by swiping up or down.

A double tap on the screen shows keyboard status icons like caps lock, current profile, and battery level. Most keys on the Azoth Extreme can be programmed with up to two layers of functions, except for the function key. Some secondary key functions are pre-set and cannot be changed. Key programming in Armoury Crate involves picking a key and assigning a function from a list that includes keyboard commands, mouse actions, multimedia controls, shortcuts, program launches, preset text, and macros.
