As mentioned the bottom of the keyboard features a decorative metal cutout pattern, consistent with the bladed pattern of the buckle, and includes four rubber feet for stability.
At the center ASUS conceals storage for the keyboard's USB-A dongle and an adjustable switch. Additionally, there are two round cutouts designed to accommodate the keyboard's magnetic feet. The package includes two sets of feet that vary in height and allow users to adjust the typing angle from the standard 5 degrees to 9 or 11 degrees. This adjustability is a rare feature in metal keyboards, offering ergonomic options that are typically unavailable.
The Azoth Extreme introduces a feature designed to enhance the typing experience, personally, I am really missing that numeric key pad though.
Modability on the switches, yeah it's a feature alright. By flipping the paddle switch located on the underside of the keyboard, users can switch keystrokes between a “hard” and a “soft” response. The "soft" keystroke setting is intended for extended typing sessions, while the "hard" setting is optimized for gaming.
And of course, the keyboard is equipped with an OLED touch screen, enabling users to control brightness, volume, and RGB lighting with simple taps. It also features a ‘music mode’ that displays the currently playing song. However, the screen's small size—approximately the size of a thumb—limits its functionality, making it somewhat cumbersome to use. The touch-sensitive area is confined to a portion of the OLED screen. Despite that, the screen is positioned at the top right side of the keyboard, ensuring it does not interfere with normal typing.
The pre-lubed switches, with a 1.8mm actuation point and 45 grams of operating force, contribute to this enhanced experience. The review model was equipped with ROG NX Storm switches, a refined clicky switch that provides a satisfying tactile and auditory response during typing.
