Real World Benchmarks

This storage benchmark is built on Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Adobe After Effects, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, World of Warcraft, and Battlefield 3. The final score is calculated by summing the geometric means of the individual components. Again, the traces are recorded in real time,' which includes idle time. The score is calculated as the average of three runs for each of the ten trace tests.

All scores on this page represent the time in seconds required to complete the procedure; a lower value indicates a faster workflow.

Battlefield 3
The storage trace is recorded while the user starts Battlefield 3, logs in loads a saved game, and starts playing. The trace is based on 887 MB of reads and 28 MB of writes.

World of Warcraft
This World of Warcraft trace contains the start of the game, login in, and starting a level. The trace contains 390 MB of reading tasks and 5 MB of writing assignments.

Adobe Photoshop Light
This trace contains starting Photoshop, opening 14 images and executing seven operations on each of them. The trace contains 313 MB of reading tasks and 2336 MB of writing assignments.
