Final words and conclusion

Phanteks Enthoo Primo is probably one of the most beautiful chassis I have tested in a while. It really is up there in the same spot as the Corsair Obsidian 900D, the Cooler Master HAF and NZXT Phantom 820. For that I have to give Phanteks a lot of respect, especially when you realise that this is their first case released ever. The overall build quality is certainly great and the features offered will give the average PC aficionado plenty to work with. The Phanteks Enthoo Primo is a chassis that comes with everything you need. It certainly has sufficient enough cooling, the largest graphics cards will fit, ATX and Micro ATX, heck even eATX motherboards fit perfectly as well. One downside, there is not HPTX form factor support, though these motherboards are very rare.

Aesthetics

At first glance you'll say nice .. then it slowly transforms into WOW after you start using it. Really the Enthoo Primo is amongst the best looking chassis available on the market.  And over time, you'll slowly appreciate it more and more.

The all black design is cool, the aesthetics are kept simple and everything can be hidden which is just a great feature as only the motherboard, memory and cooling will be displayed. More simple, yet still added benefits are of course the two USB 3.0 ports, the mainboard cutout on the motherboard tray and the overall tool free design. I mean it is 199 EUR, but seriously, you do get a lot of chassis alright.

The work space inside is very decent of course, though keep in mind that everything was designed in such a manner that you hide the non essential stuff, so you'll be at work routing cables and hiding stuff alright. But spend a little time on it it is well worth the effort. The only gripe would be that HPTX motherboards will not fit (typical the dual processor motherboards). But other then that it's all good mostly. With  good access to pretty much anything and with 8 expansions lots there is plenty room for three or even four graphics cards. Mind you though that some restrictions do apply when it comes to length of the graphics cards, especially when using multiple of them. This definitely needs to be checked out before installing multiple graphics cards.

The all black interior cool looks, the CPU back plate cutout for easy installation/replacement of CPU-coolers and overall features that belong in the enthusiast segment. We find the hidden HDDs, cables and PSU brilliant alright.

Final words

Also very cool (as simple as it is) is the fan HUB. Basically you route one PWM fan wire from the motherboard to the PCB and you then control all fans at the same RPM. Very simple, very effective and it prevents cable clutter.

Talking about cable clutter, there is enough room behind the motherboard for cable management, and then there are the four fans in the case factory installed offering very nice airflow at very low noise levels, then again you can PWM control them. Overall we think the Phanteks Enthoo Primo is a magnificent chassis, though the hub is nice, we do miss a real fan controller though as I like to alter RPM on the fly. But sure the overall well thought through design, the nice quality and a sufficient enough feature set definitely make this chassis interesting. The finished product looks just great, though taste differs per person of course.

The chassis is not perfect sure, there are little things I like to see changed, improved ODD mounts, fan controller and yeah, simple stuff like that. But if I had to rate it I'd give it a 9 out of 10 and considering the Enthoo Primo is the first chassis Phanteks ever put into production we can only applaud them. We can highly recommend the Phanteks Enthoo Primo, you'll easily forget about the 2, maybe 3 flaws as otherwise it is a truly excellent product. Combine that with the fantastic looks and you can only wonder what else Phanteks has in store for us in the future.

Well done guys, well done.
