The Pentium G3258 is a conventional dual-core (no Hyper-Threading) with a 3.2 GHz base clock, no Turbo Mode, and a 3 MB L3 cache. This CPU is unlocked, unlike the rest of the Pentium family - you’ll need to insert it into a Z87 or Z97 motherboard to take advantage of that fact.
It does also support Quick Sync support. Intel Quick Sync Video is Intel's hardware video encoding and decoding technology, which is integrated into some of the Intel CPUs. The name "Quick Sync" refers to the use case of quickly transcoding ("syncing") a video from, for example, a DVD or Blu-ray Disc to a format appropriate to, for example, a smartphone. A fast Intel dual-core would also be a great option for a modest gaming rig or general system, especially when you can tweak it much higher and thus get faster per core performance. In theory we feel that a dual-core G3258 clocked at roughly 4.1 GHz likely could take on the Core i3-4330 in performance, not a bad deal really.
