SSD Performance CrystalDiskMark

CrystalDiskMark is a disk benchmark utility that measures performance for sequential and random reads/writes of various sizes for any storage device. It is useful for comparing the speed of both portable and local storage devices.

CrystalDiskMark can measure sequential reads/writes speed, measure random 512KB, 4KB, 4KB (Queue Depth=32) reads/writes speed, has support for different types of test data (Random, 0Fill, 1Fill), includes basic theme support and has multilingual support. Give it a try yourself as it is free to download.

For this run I took the Vertex 3 480GB, and both the Vertex 3 256GB and 512GB drives for a test run.

Vertex 4

Above OCZ Vertex 4 512GB - ridiculous fast numbers really.

Vertex 4

Above OCZ Vertex 4 256MB - again silly fast, though the 256GB model definitely is a little slower in writes.

Vertex 4

Above Vertex 3 480 MB as an SSD to compare with.

You'll agree with me that the SandForce Vertex 3 is extremely fast, if not the fastest SSD on the globe to date. Well, have a look at the new Vertex 4 results.
