OCZ Technology DIMMs
OCZ Technology
So the modules we are testing today are one of OCZ first triple channel memory DIMM modules.
The OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Gold Low-Voltage Triple Channel kit we'll be testing today is three bars of 2 GB (in triple channel mode you gain the best memory bandwidth).
The modules are tagged under SKU number OCZ3G1600LV6GK and have some pretty brave 8:8:8:24 timings (for 3x2GB DDR2 memory) at 1600 MHz. For six GB of memory at 1600 MHz these are really nice timings.
It's EPP enhanced memory, meaning that the mainboards that support it (EPP), can read out pre-set configuration from the memory for optimal timings. Do it like I do though, set it manually, please.
It's gooooooold ... well, not exactly. But the heatpreaders surely look nice.
Each of the OCZ module comes equipped with a (as the photo's will show) XTC heatspreader for the good heat dissipation and a look more importantly, aesthetics. Be careful when you push in the memory though. I had this once happen, if you push too much on the heatspreaders, you can break your memory. So push on that green PCB only.
Also worthy to mention, all memory is backed with toll-free technical support, the EVP (Extended Voltage Protection) coverage, and (and I really do love this) comes with a Lifetime Warranty.
