Some more shots here to give you a better idea of the cooler’s general appearance.

The NH-U12A is not a tall cooler. At 158mm, it should fit in most ATX chassis.

When you look at the cooler from the side, without the fans, you can see the radiator tower (consisting of 50 fins) is quite slim, and that it’s attached to the base plate asymmetrically. The fin pack is also deeper (58mm, up from 45mm) to provide 37% more surface area.

As you can see in the photo, with the fans on, the thickness of the entire assembly almost doubles.

Looking at the NH-U12A from the top, you’ll see a structure that Noctua has never used before. In contrast to the previous tower coolers, which had either five or six heatpipes, the new NH-U12A has been equipped with seven 6mm nickel-plated pipes. At the top of the cooler, you can see the heatpipe endings and the Noctua logo. It would have been nicer if they provided some kind of cover for it, but some users might still like this “rough” look.
