Final words and conclusion
With the 74.99-79.99 USD now (depending on the source), MSI offers an interesting (good value) headset here. The IMMERSE GH50 Wireless is an opportunity for gamers to get a reasonable headset solution without compromising (too much) audio or mic quality, which is good, especially for the wireless solution. Wearing comfort was very good. The sound quality is more than acceptable; you won’t hurt your ears (too much) even when listening to music (of course, if you’re not an audiophile – but I don’t think they would even consider this product).
Given the two 50 mm neodymium magnets (there were 40 mm in the wired GH50), it’s a good package for the money. The drivers offer detailed enough sound with a rather wide spectrum. The wireless functionality is always a nice thing. The range reached 10 meters (MSI didn’t state it in the specs). The safe range was ~8 meters. The other thing about wireless usage is the battery life. MSI says up to 22 hours. We got about 15-16, so that’s a good result. You can charge the battery using the provided USB cable.
Wearing Comfort
The IMMERSE GH50 Wireless is very good in this respect. Given the simple design, it feels very good in weight (as it’s light) and comfortable. The ear padding is relaxed, and the headband is made solidly (using metal). Even longer sessions are not tiresome, and your ears shouldn’t get too warm despite using closed ear cups (which are unfortunately to adjust in a wide range).
Conclusion
You need to spend ~75-80 USD at the moment; for this amount, the IMMERSE GH50 Wireless is a good deal that can work not only with the PC but also the Mac, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch. It offers nice audio quality (but a pretty average microphone, even for a wireless solution), and such thing as carry pouch (and the headset is possible to fold, that it’s quite easy to transport). The IMMERSE GH50 Wireless delivers a decent performance in music and is pretty good in gaming, thanks to proper 50 mm drivers (the wired GH50 had 40 mm). You get excellent wearing comfort. The headband should be durable, as are the ear cup mounts (although the headset is made of plastic). The wireless functionality is implemented well; you get a 15-16 hours (in our scenario) battery life, ranging between 8 and 10 meters. The 2-year warranty paired with a decent build quality (a bit too plasticky) is also an important item to mention in the final lines of this review. What we’d like more? There is a possibility of muting the microphone when using the wire, Bluetooth support, and a better microphone. It’s a headset worthy of a Bronze and Good Value award(s).
