At default settings, overall you are looking at a card that consumes well over 300 Watts under full load. The cooler seems to be doing a terrific job in cooling. The card remains passive up-to a GPU temperature of 55~60 Degrees C, the fans do not even spin. The fans used are a new revision and basically consist out of a x3 Torx fan setup. This should offer more airflow.
The card is very lengthy and thick, roughly 12.2 inches in length which is around 31 cm so it should fit only in decent size chassis. A 14 GPU + 3 mem phase power supply is responsible for supplying the GP102 GPU with power. The two additional power phases are dedicated to the board’s GDDR5X memory.
So you will have noticed that some bags with stickers have been included, if you are wondering what they are for? Well, these allow you to customize the outer shell that shows the lightning stripes. Default is white, included are red, gold and black.
I simply put the stickers on there without the sticky part but basically this is how you easily and fast change the looks. It's as simple and cheap as can be, but MSI figures that some PCs are two tone black red, others all black, some white/black .. this way you have a bit of ability to match the colors of your PC. You cannot complain about that really. Simply and effective.
They are a bit of a trend and like everybody is following. The LED system can be controlled. The lighting system on this graphics card is capable of displaying millions of colors and different effects for a personalized gaming system.
In its default configuration the colors change with a very tranquilizing rainbow effect. But as stated you can configure this yourself with the Mystic Light MSI software. Below a couple of photos indicating what you can achieve and expect with the LED lighting setup.
