Performance - DDR3 Memory read | write
Memory Read test
So for memory we had some good stuff to work with, Intel has a couple of certified partners for memory to get some sweet XMP profiles going. One of them is G.Skill with their newly revised RipjawsZ series memory, their 3rd reincarnation of their DDR3 memory modules.
Obviously we had to peek at memory bandwidth performance, and that doesn't such with an Ivy Bridge processor. At 1600 MHz you will sit at 18 to 19K MB/sec, which is great bandwidth. But overclocked. ... man. Below we have the 5 GHz OC with the memory XMP activated at 2666 MHz.
Memory Write test
We did the same with the memory write tests. Here +19K MB/sec is what you roughly get in dual-channel mode at 1600 MHz CAS9, and again at 5 GHz with the XMP profile activated at 2666 MHz that a cool 26 GB/sec of memory bandwith.
Sandra Memory Index
Here we make use of the Sandra Memory performance test, it gives us an index score of overall memory performance. Higher is better.
