The Verdict

Again congratulations to Lian-Li for being one of the best case designers in the history of the PC. The PC-777 has an exciting design for sure. As always let's start with the bad. There really isn't anything wrong with the PC-777 but there is no removable mainboard tray. And I love that about Lian-Li's products, really. It likely had to do with the funky design of the casing itself somehow that prohibited that, but hey it's a missed feature for sure. On the upside, you have plenty of space to work in. Secondly the side panels can be a tad difficult to close. Now that is not an issue if you do not need to be at the inside of the PC that often. But let me say I do not want to do that on a daily basis. Thirdly the fans, the connectors connect straight to the 12 volts rail and in my opinion they can be a tad too loud. I'm a complete sucker for silence though, so if you agree with me that the fans are too noisy then you can opt for a fan controller, or use a gender changer and simply connect them to the 7 volts rail. But at 300 bucks I think the noisy fans are rather hard to swallow.

Okay I'm done already because that's really all the "bad" stuff I could find. It's relatively minor and pales in comparison of everything that is right about this casing.

The new drastic design change "the Snail" is something I have never seen before, it sets a standard for other PC case builders. The internal design is extremely spacious and really a joy to work in. Furthermore (although this is subjective as taste differs) it's a lovely case to look at, it's lightweight and basically very functional as you have lot's of space to work with. You are prepared with this "almost" tool-less PC case. And before I forget to mention it, you can get this case in either silver or black color.

The design is awesome and the usability fantastic. This casing will remain here and be used as HTPC (Home Theater PC) it fits my personal flavor and color style in the living room. Good stuff. It's by far not an expensive case considering that this is a real aluminum casing and a special edition casing. But yeah you pay quite a sum of money for the PC-777 as, at the moment of writing this article, you will have to cough up roughly 300 USD. But is it not a price that most of you would never be able to cough up? I mean, your processor will cost more and last a way shorter time period right? It's all about choices versus your budget. It is a lot of money though.

Well, in retrospect I have to note that the PC-777 is highly recommended by yours truly. It's cool, is user friendly and looks just splendid (and again, that last one is a bit personal though). If you want to invest some money into a good case then this one is without a doubt a winner.
