Okay embrace yourself .. it's another NVIDIA review. And I can tell you already that this week will be loaded with NVIDIA news. As you probably know by now, InnoVision is a Hong Kong based manufacturer that produces a number of multimedia products aimed at both the OEM and retail market.
The product range is very diverse and bigger than you'd expect. From VGA cards (obviously) to audio cards to digital video products. Inno3D offers GeForce based graphics cards from low to high-end and in today's review we'll be testing a lower segment high-end product, their GeForce 7950 GT (PCI-Express). Armed with an exceptionally playable graphics core and equipped with 512 Megabyte of GDDR3 memory, this product is ready to bark in your PC.
Inno3D ladies and gents .. they have been around for a long time now and are slowly progressing to become a bigger player in that huge graphics card arena. How do they achieve that? By diverting from standard reference based graphics cards a little and delivering, much like many manufacturers do these days, pre-overclocked products.
A couple of weeks ago we tested the really impressive GeForce 7900 GS. In that review we also already let you guys and girls know that NVIDIA actually announced two cards. The GS was a product targeted at the mainstream users with a fantastic price of 199 USD. There is however a tiny gap in the market against ATI that needed to be filled, a product that competes with ATI's 299 USD Radeon X1900 XT 256MB. So NVIDIA released a 299 USD 512MB card, quite interesting.
A new card for less money? Naah, don't be confused. Today's tested product is pretty much similar to a GeForce 7900 GT with 512MB memory and slightly higher clocks. The cherry on top of this ice-cream however is that price tag, 299 USD, which is a great price for the performance you are about to witness.
So please remember this, the product you see today is 100% similar to a GeForce 7900 GT with 512MB with slightly different clocks. We'll explain all this to you on the next few pages, evidently.
Over the next pages we'll review the Inno3D version. Interestingly enough with Zalman cooler. Our last Inno3D review was slightly negative due to the awful amount of noise the reference coolers made and as any clever company does .. they listen. So they decided to release a model with A Zalman cooler. And you know Zalman .. they offer silence versus good cooling.
