So it's time to have a closer look at the products. Below you can spot the packaging of the Radeon HD 6970 IceQ MIX edition.
Here we can see the bundle. The card comes with a clock frequency locked in at 880 MHz on the graphics core where the memory is clocked at 5500 MHz effective. This board is equipped with a massive 2GB framebuffer partition, GDDR5 256-bit.
Along with the bundle comes a driver and installation guide, driver CD, PEG power converter, a VGA/DVI dongle and a Crossfire bridge. Free is a download coupon for Colin McRae DiRT3, which is nice. Oh yes, a graphics card is included as well ;)
The card comes with a shocking two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors, two DVI connectors of which one is single (up-to monitor resolution 1920x1200) and the other dual-link (2560x1600 and even higher). Also present is one HDMI 1.4a connector, thus supporting 3D televisions.
Five connectors. In theory up-to four can be used in Eyefinity mode with one card, or in Hydra setup with an additional card. The overall looks of the new ICEQ cooler then, well you either love it or hate it. I'm afraid that the majority of end-users will have just raised their eyebrows though.
HIS is changing the color of the plastic cap to something translucent and appealing to the eyes though.
