7. Why ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel or AMD?
I usually use whatever brand is both has the best value proposition and makes most sense at the time. Usually that is Nvidia and Intel, but during the 400 series, I had an AMD HD5870, and was also looking forward to switching out my 920 for an AM3+ Bulldozer. I do not like the direction Intel is taking lately, but I'd like AMD's chips to be a bit better clock for clock. If I had to buy a graphics card today, it would probably be a HD6950.
8. Does your PC live up to your expectations ?
Absolutely. It is more than capable of doing anything I'd need it to. Now-a-days, in my opinion, enthusiast computing is more about features, and versatility, and less about raw horsepower; almost every graphics card and processor over $200 can play anything on high.
