7. Why AMD-ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel or AMD?
I’m not particularly brand loyal – I go where I think the best performance is. Intel still rule the CPU side of things so that’s no contest. The last couple of rounds I’ve been with AMD, but this time I felt the 980 Ti’s offered just that bit more than Fury – although the new tech such as HBM on the Fury certainly intrigued me!
8. Does your PC live up to your expectations ?
Yes, definitely. I actually think this is my most complete build. Every time I do a new project I like to try something different. This time I wanted a different look to the usual red or blue themes around. Parvum really came through when I asked them for a yellow case and actually ordered in yellow acrylic specifically for this build as they hadn’t offered it as standard at that point. They obviously liked it because I’ve seen one or two others pop up here and there in the forums! While this is an ATX build, I also wanted to keep the footprint of the build down and not go back to one of the massive builds I’ve done in the past. The build is pretty much as powerful as you can get right now, and fully water-cooled, yet the case really is quite small and very space efficient considering what’s inside it. It’s actually significantly shorter than my mATX case, and the same width. Finally, I wanted to give hardline tubing a go for the first time as I like to push myself to learn new things. It’s certainly far more time consuming and tricky compared to regular flexi-tube and there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to tube bending but the precision of the end result is fantastic.
