A heat spreader does not always bring the temperature down. Rather than that, it moves the heat from the chips to the PCB, distributing it more evenly throughout the entire module, and eliminating potential hot-spots. Theoretically, this should allow for better overclocking.
The 8 RGB LED crystalline bar (made of plastic) located on top of the modules is unique and it certainly stands out, even today, almost 2 years after the series’ debut.
The total height of the stick is about 44 mm/1.73 inches. That’s a relatively low-profile module, so you shouldn’t have problems with air coolers but, as always, we recommend double-checking whether any clearance issues won’t occur before you buy this set.
The weight of the module is 66 g, so the radiator seems to be solid. The set that has been provided to us is of course an RGB one, so you need to use your motherboard’s software to control the lighting. You can use Asus Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light, or ASRock Polychrome Sync for that purpose. Ok, here are the last shots of this nice (glorious and gold) memory kit.
Let’s proceed to the next page.
