The RAM comes in a black cardboard box with an embossed G.SKILL logo and a sleeve showing the product name.

Information about capacity and frequency is printed on stickers on the back of the pack. Let’s check what’s inside.

When you open it, it resembles a jewellery box a bit. All modules are placed in black pieces of foam. A small cloth to clean any residual finger smudges from the golden plating is included. These are 8GB 4000 MHz DIMMs in a kit of four.

Here is what it looks like after unpacking. These are four 8 GB modules running at 4000 MHz. You can see the black PCB here. The aluminium heat spreader has a glossy finish. The design is great with the PCB is black, and XMP version 2.0 is supported, of course. The radiators are integrated with the PCB by means of an adhesive pad on each side, and dismantling them would require using significant strength (or heating up with a hairdryer for a longer period), so I did not do this and do not recommend it either (as it would void the warranty).

The stickers tell you that this is a kit of 4 x 8 GB modules operating at 4000 MHz, with CL17, at 1.35 Volts. This should be absolutely more than enough for the typical user/gamer, but it can come in handy if you process video or graphics. For optimal performance, we recommend sticking to the settings from the preconfigured XMP profile.
