NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB
Info: Point of ViewPrice - $299-349 / 249-300 EUR
Alright lads, it's week 12 and we have finally arrived at NVIDIA's last new graphics product (at least for a little while). Team green today unleashes the GeForce 9800 GTX. A product that embeds a smaller fabrication process, is more energy aware and also pretty important as it to be considered a high-end class product for an absolutely okay price.
Yes, make no mistake ... today's product is what we call a refresh product. Older architecture tweaked and made more efficient. Therefore do not expect this product to reach new heights in performance. On the contrary, expect "GeForce 8800 GTX" like performance. But at a far better price, and that really doesn't suck. Here in Europe I've spoken to a couple of e-tailers, expect prices to start just under 300 EUR / 349 USD. Some of them even told me that within a month the price will be at 250 EUR which is just really sweet.
Therefore in this article it is time to take the GeForce 9800 GTX for a little test drive. The product is supplied by Point of View. In another article launched today we'll have a look at the SLI performance of two 9800 GTX products. But hey now, one step at a time.
So over the next few pages we'll dive into the technology behind the GeForce 9800 GTX. We'll strip it nekked, take photo's and obviously will take an in-depth look at it's performance and then overclock it a little to see if we can make it sweat. And I can tell you this though, the GeForce 9800 GTX does look good.
Next page please, let's review the GeForce 9800 GTX.
