Conclusion
The VerdictWell now, in all honesty I expected the "crippled" 12 pipe GeForce 6800 to be a bit of an underdog. It managed to surprise me though. For not an extreme amount of money you can play any game to date without any troubles and that's with Image Quality settings enabled. So yeah, I was pleasantly surprised.
When we look at the entire package things even get better, a very nice software bundle and then the cooling mechanism, it's just awesome. Combine that with the fact you can overclock it pretty nicely and it surely is a recommended product. Galaxy as always delivered a good quality product, nice blue PCB and they went the extra mile with its cooling. Which is important, as a manufacturer these days you need to differentiate yourself from the rest. And this product does exactly that. Furthermore excellent gaming performance, dual monitor candy, great movie/media playback and crystal clear 2D and 3D image display. Stability and performance of this product is really good. You know who this card is perfect for? Users with an LCD screen that don't go beyond 1024x768 - 1280x1024 yet want all eye-candy enabled.
The standard GeForce 6800 is just downright nice gaming experience, and it should be as it's still in that high-end class. You can play any game to date at an extraordinary performance level for an cost that seems justified for this product. The 12 pixel pipelines make sure you will see a nice performance jump over the previous generation silicon and that ensures you some serious gameplay as this product simply performs awesome even with the latest DirectX 9 titles! The heart of the beast has been fitted with an 222 Million transistors silicon doing 350 MHz and yet the card manages to produce numbers that simply are really nice. There's no justification to buy a GeForce 59xx series graphics card if you can chip in a few bucks more for this one.
I can make this a boring, long conclusion but when a product is good then I'll stick to that, why waste anymore energy and time on rambling on for multiple pages.
Two thumbs up and highly recommended, and the daring step of including this great cooling solution makes me want to give it a well deserved editor's choice.
