GALAX has made slight modifications to the clock speeds of their GeForce RTX 4070 Ti EX Gamer model, deviating from Nvidia's standard specifications. It should be noted that Nvidia does not offer a Founders Edition of the RTX 4070 Ti. While the base clock of the GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 Ti EX Gamer White remains the same as Nvidia's, the boost clock has been increased marginally towards 2670 MHz. However, in real-world usage scenarios, this marginal difference in clock speeds does not significantly impact the performance of the GPU (that's a 2% faster boost frequency).
The GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 Ti EX comes with an optional fan that can be installed on the backplate of the graphics card. Despite its size, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti EX is relatively lightweight, weighing just 1.5 kg (3.3 lb). Additionally, the manufacturer has included a GPU bracket with the card to ensure proper support during installation. Included in the package are documentation and an adapter that transforms 8-pin PCIe power inputs to a 12-pin power connector. It's important to be careful when handling the cables and to avoid bending them too close to the connector, keeping a 3-4cm distance. It's also recommended to ensure that your power supply is strong enough to support this high-performance graphics card.
The RTX 4070 Ti has two encoders that make it well-suited for broadcasting and video editing tasks, and it also supports the advanced video coding format AV1. The card comes with three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.1 output. It's worth noting that NVIDIA did not incorporate the new DP 2.1 standard into these graphics cards, which may be a disappointment to some users.
Despite its size, the card is unlikely to have any temperature issues due to its efficient cooling system. Additionally, the card's aluminium backplate and metal anti-bending plate prevent it from sagging.
The RTX 4000 series graphics cards boast advanced features such as HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports, which can support 8K 60Hz HDR through a single HDMI cable. However, it's worth noting that NVIDIA chose not to implement the new DP 2.1 standard, which some may find disappointing.
Cooling is a critical factor for a graphics card of this caliber, and the RTX 4070 Ti has a large heatsink array topped with an attractive brushed metal shroud. The card measures 322mm in length, 140mm in height, and 67mm in depth, and it weighs a little over 1.5kg. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is a significant upgrade for those who have been using older graphics cards like the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or GeForce RTX 2080. Thanks to its support for NVIDIA's newest RT and Tensor Cores, the RTX 4070 Ti can handle the latest features, including DLSS 3 technology.
