Product Showcase
Alright let's start up this article. Above EVGA Z77 motherboard packaging and below it's package content. Included are the motherboard, SATA cables, manual SLI bridge and well... all defaults really.
The Intel Z77 Express chipset supports 3rd generation 22nm and 2nd generation core i7/i5/i3 LGA1155 socket type processors. It also supports Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 Included you will find a rather users guide and fold out quick start poster.
You will receive three expansion slot breakouts that include USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and Firewire connections. Then there are four SATA cables of two different varieties and two types of SATA power connections. Included as well is a I/O cover and two SLI bridges for 2-way and 3-way configurations. Here's where a question should rise, the FTW indeed does support 4-way SLI however you'll need to purchase a 4-way SLI bridge from EVGA at the EVGA store.
A nice looking piece of hardware alright, that established black-red EVGA look immediately is showing. Looking at the upper photo we can spot a whole lot of PCIe slots. We'll address these in detail later on. Also what immediately catches the eye is active cooling. Don't worry it's very silent, but amongst other the PLX chip residing under there needed some extra cooling.
Mind you that if you have not already noticed it, the Z77FTW uses a large sized form factor, the EATX Form Factor applies and that means a length of 12in - 304.8mm and width of 10.375in - 263.5mm. Please do be aware of that as most mid-sized chassis can not house such a large PCB. So make sure your chassis is EATX compatible.
