Product showcase
The Deepcool Gamerstorm Castle 240 RGB box is robust and sturdy. Only the ASUS AURA logo is displayed on the front, indicating RGB compatibility, but other brands are supported as well (Gigabyte, MSI, Asrock). On the back, there are the technical specs.
Inside you’ll find the unit (obviously), consisting of the radiator, tubing and pump/cooling block.
Next up are the installation accessories. You’ll find separate plastic bags for:
- Intel & AMD boards
- Fan hub
- RGB cables
In the first one, you’ll find the backplate, screws, nuts, and thermal paste.
For the fans, you’ll have a four-way PWM hub for connecting the fans to a single motherboard header (the four ports are useful if you plan to upgrade to a push-pull configuration). There’s also a cable extension included for that device.
Regarding the RGB – there’s a SATA-powered lighting controller that can be installed if your motherboard lacks RGB headers or, alternatively, there's a four-way RGB splitter for connecting the fans and pump to a single addressable port. Summing it up, after unboxing you’ll find the radiator, fans, brackets and backplates for the entire AMD and Intel CPU range. Thermal paste is not pre-applied, so you don’t have to use the one provided by Deepcool.
You need to screw the fans to the radiator. Each of them has two wires. One is for power and it’s connected to the MB or attached to the Fan Hub, whereas the second one is for LED control.
A plain aluminium radiator with many fins, so nothing extraordinary. Let’s continue the showcase on the next page.
