Introduction
Creative Sound BlasterX Kratos S3
A proper 2.1 Speaker set?
Armed with a small sub and two satellite speakers we'll today have a look at Creative Sound BlasterX Kratos S3 speaker kit. It is a light-weight setup that doesn't look half bad either. But will it perform for the 79 USD / 69 Euros it costs? It has been a while since we reviewed a commercial speaker set here at Guru3D.com as the trend is headphones lately. In the PC oriented market, there's pretty much Creative Labs, Bose, Klipsch and Logitech dominating in the EU and addressing that market with the more high-end gear. Of course, there are plenty of others like Hercules, Trust, Philips, and some others but yeah predominantly it's Logitech and Creative Labs here. Today we peek at their Kratos S3.

Creative came to us with the question if we wanted to test their Sound BlasterX Kratos S3 set. While nothing fancy in terms of specs and say, multi-channel speakers, this simply is two speakers and a subwoofer setup. The initial price tag, however, was an indicator you probably should not expect studio quality sound, no Sir. That initial price tag was set at 79 EUR and is still going at roughly that level. For that money, that at the very least should be interstring to look at I'd say. So yes, a no-frills, non-fancy PC speaker set: two speakers, one sub, and an analog cable in the back of your trusty PC. Will this set offer enough value for your money, let's find out.
