Companion app for Android and iOS
To easily access or stream content from and towards your VA, Corsair designed an app surprisingly called ... Voyager Air. The app is available for Android, iOS and Kindle Fire devices.
You should first connect your mobile device to the Voyager Air's wireless network and then startup the app.
Once you opened up the app it will have detected the VA and connect / communicate with it. The app is working okay and does what it is supposed to do.
It probably is a good time to press the preferences button and add a bit of security towards your device by adding a user-name and password. Remember, if you don't do this .. everyone can access the device exposing all the content located on it.
We click on folders and then can see the MKV movie file we used in our performance tests. Playing that file, or music of whatever you want to open will be managed by the software on your tablet. So the VA app merely functions as a gateway in-between the content and your playback software.
This 1080P movie streamed over WIFI without any problems. Over WIFI we have roughly 50 Mbps available. A compressed MKV of normal quality would require 10 to 20 Mbps. But remember that if you want to stream files that make use of other codecs and file formats like .avi, mkv, wmv, then a different playback app is needed. Blayback with one to three stream was smooth, using four simultaniously over WIFI at 1080P became an issue. But yeah, we are trying to push the limits here.
