Final words and conclusion
Final words and conclusion
At a price of 99.99 USD/EUR, Corsair offers a great product. The VOID RGB ELITE WIRELESS provides gamers with a high-quality wireless headset solution without compromising on comfort, audio, or mic quality. The headset supports virtualized surround sound, but usually disabling this feature will make your experience better overall (especially for music). That, however, is a subjective observation. Wearing comfort was excellent, and audio quality more than sufficient, even for listening to music. The VOID RGB ELITE Wireless is an incremental update to the VOID PRO Wireless, featuring enhanced drivers of the same size, but also a better microphone that is now Discord certified as well.
It’s a fair deal for the money you spend, given the two 50 mm neodymium drivers. They offer a sound that’s rich in detail, and with a wide spectrum. Virtualized 7.1 surround sound implementation is pretty muddy, and we're not sure that the hardware is fully capable of driving the Dolby signal. Battery life was about 12 hours in my case (which is that far off from Corsair’s claim of up to 16 hours). The wireless range was about 10 meters, so I could easily go to another room and listen to music there. As for the RGB lighting system, as you can easily tell from the pictures, basic (but that's okay).
Wearing Comfort
The VOID RGB ELITE WIRELESS is very well made in this respect. It feels quite heavy (50 g less would be fantastic), but still very comfortable, as it’s is intricate yet simple. Even longer sessions of 3 hours+ are not really tiresome. The ear padding is great in use and comfy. The headband is made very solidly. Cup height can be adjusted, and the cups can be rotated as well.
Conclusion
For the 99.99 USD/EUR you have to spend, you can’t go wrong with the VOID RGB ELITE WIRELESS. It offers proper audio quality combined with excellent wearing comfort. The headband is very durable, as are the ear cup mounts. It features a cast-metal design that gives it a really firm and stable grip. The Carbon version we tested is ultra-sleek and stealthy looking. You need to remember that it’s a purely wireless headset. There is no wired connection option. If you lose or damage the wireless dongle, then you need to contact Corsair. Summing things up, it’s a product worthy of our Recommended award. You can tweak the headset to your liking, and it works just really well with the embedded USB 7.1 soundcard. For me, the VOID RGB ELITE WIRELESS does its job well in music, as well as in gaming, thanks to proper 50 mm drivers. The included (unfortunately non-detachable) MIC is also of good quality and should be reliable. The 2-year warranty paired with the great build is also important items to mention in the last lines of this review. The Corsair Void Elite RGB Wireless is comfortable (but it could have been at least 50g lighter) and sounds great. This is one of the best headsets that this reviewer has had the pleasure to work with (even better than the HS70) and, as such, we recommend it for this kind of money.
