Still buidling
The CORSAIR Platform:6 feels like a desk designed with personal touch and adaptability in mind. Spanning 6’ (180cm) in width and 30” (76cm) in depth, it offers a choice between a fixed height or an adjustable model that smoothly shifts with the help of dual electric motors.
That LED interface? It's a neat feature, allowing for two preset height memories. As for aesthetics, you can choose between a sleek black laminate finish or a rich dark walnut-stained rubberwood. 74cm is of course my preferred height in a sitting position. Saving profiles is easy, find your preferred height, press S and then the profile number you'd like to save it at. So setting 1 is 74 (sitting) for me and setting 2 is configured at 105cm for the standing position. The latter one is plenty and I am a tall guy at almost two meters. There's still roughly 20cm left to go even higher.
The space? More than ample. It comfortably fits a whole PC tower and two 32” monitors, thanks to the built-in dual monitor arms. And if you're anything like me and always need more desk space, they've got you covered with extensions that boost the surface area by 33%. Just mount the included adapters and you can insert the monitors with spring-based mechanism that is very secure. As stated we would have really liked to see a three arm monitors option.
Positioning the monitors is easy, should the monitor be heavy again with a spring-based screw mechanism you can configure the proper weight and then position the monitor properly. Underneath the arms you can route the power and display cable. Making things again, very tidy. Looking at the side a side pegboard would be a nifty addition for staying organized. We installed extra space for a PC though and mounted a side table, bringing this desk towards a width of 210cm. Optionally you can install a side table on the left side as well, making the desks humongous at 240cm wide.
One of my favourite features has to be the cable management channels – they're movable and can be adjusted depending on your setup, whether that's for gaming, content creation, or just everyday work and study. Now I know that cables are not 100% done hiding here yet, but you can already get and see that tidy feel the desk offers.
It's clear that a lot of thought went into the Platform:6's design, making it incredibly versatile for all our unique needs. Btw the cables you see popping out of the monitor really can be routed through the arm. My keyboard I'll route towards the storage cubby, which has grommet holes and from there on I can lead the cable towards the PC.
