Final words and conclusion

The same sound but added features sums up the new HS60 PRO quite well. For a price of 69 USD you will receive a rather comfortable headset, with proper build quality as well.  The audio quality at defaults is not any different compared to other Corsair headsets in the mainstream to upper audiophile range. At least, I can't hear it, but the audio is a subjective experience. You can connect the headset straight towards yout audio solution over the 3.5mm jack, or simply use the USB dongle on PC. We've tested both, and the 'pure 3.5mm jack connection did sound a bit more detailed. However, using the USB dongle, you gain Surround sound and the EQ functionality. It's a choice, whatever you prefer of course. 

The wearing comfort I cannot complain about. Well, it's a tad big maybe, but my comments end there. The audio quality beats anything you throw at this set that is within this price range. Giving you guys an objective qualification on a headset, however, remains such a hard thing to do. What I might like in that audio envelope, you might hate. Some like deep bass, other normalized and so on. Audiophiles will hate it what I say it, but if you like a little more Bass and treble you can do so, you'll have your soundcard EQ at your disposal. For gaming, some might miss virtualized 7.1 sound, but, again, that remains to be a subjective statement. 

Wearing Comfort 

The HS60 Pro Surround is a headset done right, the pure basics at a good price with proper audio quality. However, there is another factor to consider, wearing comfort. Despite its big design, it does feel light and comfy all way around, plain and simple. The ear padding is a little tougher with that leathery feel compared to other Corsair headsets, but still very comfortable. The headband is done right, as here that leathery feel and you can adjust the height at both sides, relative to your head. In short, this set offers pretty comfy wearing.

Concluding

Compared to the HS50, the HS60 Pro Surround offers the same audio quality. However, you get more features. The MIC has been improved and now is discord certified with noise cancellation. Next to that, you have a choice of connecting this headset over the 3.5mm jack or use the included USB soundcard. That last one can only be used on PC, but that does open up the iCUE software suite for virtualized 7.1 surround sound and the EQ. The price for all this hearing aid is 69 USD, and that's okay, not expensive but certainly that isn't cheap either. With the ability to tweak the headset to your liking sound wise is a nice one. Audio purists, however, will stick to the 3.5mm jack. The boom-stick MIC the HS60 offers overall very decent MIC quality. In the end this is a properly good headset, maybe slightly on the high side pricing wise. But definitely recommended as a proper gaming headset.
