Cougar Phontum Gaming Headset Review - Time for the tunes

Looking in from the side again, we can see the full suite of 7 PCIe slots, allowing for as many GPUs and expansion cards as you have space for, or your platform will support. Feasibly, 2x GPUs of dual-slot design and a further 2 single slot expansion cards are perfectly management, which is nice for a 79 dollar case. This is by no means an exclusive feature (it's an ATX standard, after all), but knowing you have the potential to upgrade your expansion options in the future is comforting for the individual who can't stop adding bits and pieces to his or her PC. As previously mentioned, without a front mounted radiator, graphics cards of up to 370mm can be used. If you cannot fit your GPU into this case, honestly, what card are you using?

The glass has very little tint. Those of you who have read my review of the Fractal Design Meshify Mini C (linked here will know that I tend to prefer TG with a darker tint. I feel as though it adds to the 'mystery' of whatever is inside your PC, though of course, it can be overdone. The light tint means that the full glory of your RGB haven is shown for all to see. For others, a darker tint can add a certain class to a PC build, whilst still allowing for your light show to shine through. Call me dramatic, but I like darker tinted glass panels. However, there is a very slight tint on this glass (to my eyes, anyway), and it's certainly enough.

You can also get a good idea here of how a front mounted radiator would fit. In a word, well. The case is short enough that even shorter hosed units should be able to fix in without a hitch. If your unit has longer hoses, there is enough room 'up top' for them to bend upward and out of the way. I, sadly, do not have an AIO on hand to install in this case, so will be using Noctua's venerable but solid NH-U12S 120mm cooler instead.

That extended front panel is even more pronounced on the 275R, now that there is no mesh covering the exposed gap. As before mentioned, I like this look, although seeing straight through your case from side on might take a bit of getting used to, the reasoning for it was likely just to tidy up the looks. The effect works, and the chassis looks exceptionally sleek from side on.

The case IO being on top allows for significantly easier access than it once did, and whilst a small change, it's a good one. It's a fairly standard IO, sure, but it lacks nothing and for this price point I cannot really mark anything against Corsair at all. It's functional and features what you need it to. To recap, it's 2x USB 3.0, a headphone jack, a microphone jack, HDD activity light, power button, and reset switch.
