OCZ Technology
Computex Day 3 - The big One Oh One
Hey all, and I welcome you again from a fairly sunny Taipei. Today Guru3D will travel to the old fairgrounds of Computex. We'll start off at the massive hotel, the grand Hyatt. Now, being a tech journalist I'm on the road a lot, and I certainly have seen my share of hotels. But this thing is jawbreakingly nice ... and big! You enter the hotel and you'll be met by a lot of staff, marble, copper and gold plating. Yes, welcome to the Hyatt.
In the Hyatt we have setup several appointments with some of the companies that do not have a booth at any of the fairgrounds. Later in the day we'll travel towards the TWTC exhibition ground, the TICC building to meet with ECS ...
Oh and yes, remember my day-0 introduction on the Taipei 101 building, the one that is 550 meters in height? Somehow Gigabyte had a fantasy of holding the finals of their overclocking contest at the 57th floor of one of the worlds tallest skyscrapers. Now did I mention already that I'm afraid of heights ? Oh dear ... well first the Hyatt then.
OCZ Technology
Always present at any big exhibition and always present in the Hyat hotel in a suite is OCZ technology. Wow, these guys had a great year alright. OCZ's product line up is just amazing. Mouses, CPU coolers, laptops, memory, flash storage, SSD, keyboards and of course their ongoing lineup of power supplies, then the PC Power & Cooling power supplies and kit like the NIA. Oh and heck, we almost forgot the liquid-cooling block and the new Z-Drive. *sighs* yeah it's a lot alright.
And the brilliant thing is, every darn product they release seems to bee a hit in either design, originality and last but not least, they always have very completive prices. I must admit, I'm a bit of a fan of their products, and if they can keep up the price/quality levels their products offer right now, this is going to be one freakishly big company, that's a guarantee. Their products just fit really well into the demands of you guys, the Guru3D audience.
So again, the photo's were a little hard to take in the Hyatt suites, but let's have a look at some of their latest kit and unannounced products.
So we've been reviewing quite a lot of items for OCZ lately as well ... their products just kick ass. To your left the new Silencer we reviewed like two weeks ago. The cooler that you see (memory) is the new XTC memory cooler with even more and better performance. A little niche gadget, granted.
When we zoom in a little bit more we spot the new OCZ Summit series SSD. It's a top of the line SSD with even better write performance than the OCZ Vertex. It's based on a Samsung controller, with plenty of cache memory. We'll try and review that one quite soon I hope.
