The Ampere series are going to replace the Turing lineup, which will fade out of the market as these cards sit right on top of their prices, yet are much faster. The GeForce RTX 3080 has 8704 stream/shader processors. The reference 3080 cards have a peak boost clock up-to 1.71 GHz, with the base clock hovering in the 1.44 GHz domain.
This card:
- Out of the box frequency performance is: 1800 MHz Boost
- 19 Gbps GDDR6X
- Power limiter can be increased to 8%
- This product requires 3x 8-pin power connectors
At the rear side, you'll notice a USB connector, this is to change the logo on the LCD screen. Also, a fan connector is present, it would have been nice if that connector had a black color. To the far low side, you can see a placeholder, here you can use the optional, but included, VGA holder. This card is heavy alright in hanging in a horizontal position we would recommend using it.
The length we measure to be 323 mm (12.7 inches), and it is thick alright, 61 mm (2.4 inches) so that roughly 2.7 slots wide.
At the connector side, we can see triple DP and one HDMI connector Sitting next to it is a button. That is the Dual BIOS One-Key Switch, press it and the card is configured in its fastest mode. A blue LED in that button will light up, confirming your modus operandus. We however did not notice a tangible effect in performance or acoustics. So we enabled it and left it at the perform mode.
