Page 20 - Biostar

Biostar

Last year we started to setup relations with Biostar because a person I know from the industry joined the Biostar team and that got things started. I hope to review more products for them in the future. The strategy from Biostar seriously appeals to the European market. Unfortunately they just can't reach the proper channels to sell in it though.

So they need to market their products well, make them known and then things will start all by themselves inevitably as it's great stuff that they make. Let take a look at some of their recent and upcoming products.

Now does that look like a cool board or what ? It's the new TP35D3-A7 Deluxe. It'll have the Intel P35 (bearlake) chipset with ICH9R Southbridge. Serious overclocking stuff, good performance and a great price. This will be a tweakers board for sure. FSB speeds up-to 1333 (standard but can do way higher), 800/1066 MHz DDR3 memory support. and lots of good stuff, only one x16 PCIe slot though.

DDR3 is coming. Qimonda .. ? these PC8500 (1066) memory modules will soon be ready in a by PC12800 version, running at an effective 1600MHz.

Here you can see the TA690G. It's an AMD based Socket AM2 mainboard powered by the new 690G (and DB600) AMD-ATi chipset. Basically it has integrated graphics (X1250).

NVIDIA's nForce 7050 based mainboard was also on display. This is the TF7050-M2. Onboard GeForce 7050 graphics (which is low end) but you should be able to play a game or two and hey it can hardware decode HD content including H.264 Progressive up-to 720 which is not bad for a mainboard targeted at roughly 135 USD.

One of the most popular selling cards at the moment. The 7950 GT, especially faster clocked versions, are doing really well.

Also present were their graphics cards. Obviously the VRanger editions are doing quite well (read our review man), I do expect a problem with the newer series 8 based products as voltage regulation is something that might have been stripped out by NVIDIA. Yeah it's a tough market for sure.
