CeBIT 2007
Hey everyone and welcome to an editorial/pictorial on the biggest technology exhibit here in Europe, the CeBIT in Hannover Germany. Roughly two million visitors and well over 8000 exhibitors are attending the CeBIT. CeBIT focuses on the professional visitor, rather than the end-user. The majority of exhibitors were IT/Enterprise oriented and only handfuls in attendance were for the consumer level.
To give you an idea on how big the exhibit grounds really are try to relate to this one: take 520 football/soccer fields, place them together and that's the sheer size of the exhibit. You can imagine that such a huge exhibit has its disadvantages as you really need to make a selection of what you can or can't see. Therefore we focus purely on what was interesting for Guru3D.com, that means most of all graphics cards, mainboards and the usual nifty gadgets we ran into that made us say "ooh look at that!"
The CeBIT organization did a really good job this year routing traffic and internally on the Messe grounds everything went really smoothly. My compliments ! The CeBIT itself this year was a little disappointing though. More and more stand-holders steer away from the CeBIT as it's getting less popular. Since the bigger standholders easily have to cough up $100,000 to $200,000 for the stand and space that kind of money takes a hefty toll on the overall marketing and sales budget. So this year I definitely spotted the trend of less exhibitors, the smaller ones were missing. And the ones that didn't really need to be there... just weren't.
There are rumours that next year the CeBIT will be two days shorter. But in my opinion what needs to happen is simple: CeBIT needs to be segmented into five days for channel/press visitors and simply open up the weekend for consumers and end-users. The stand-holders need to market their products as it's obviously all about the return of investment.
Anyway, let's get started with this pictorial as we have loads and loads of photos. We'll start off this article with the bigger names in the industry and close relations of Guru3D.com. You'll see mostly photo's guided with some comments and after a page or ten this article will continue in a pictorial completely.
Next page please, and have fun.
Yep .. only at the CeBIT you see stuff like that.
