Once we removed the TUF shielding we were able to access the screws and tighten the nuts, you clamp them and on the backside secure and tighten the screw attached to it. I have no respect for this mounting system whatsoever, it's really bad. Anyway, once seated you can now connect the fan power cable to either your motherboard CPU FAN headers or a FAN controller. So yeah, once the motherboard is out, 30 minutes work with a dense populated CPU area (heatsinks/covers/shielding), we positioned the cooler and are ready for the first test run.

So yeah, no TUF motherboard backplate and no top-side shielding, just because of this cooler mounting kit. That my firnds is not sexy.
