On this page we will start off with the cooler. The cooler is packaged well, cushioned and bundled safely in the box in the standard dark themed Be Quiet box design.
Once unboxed you'll spot the cooling unit consisting of the heatsink assembly, fan and brackets + back plate that supports a very wide range of AMD and Intel processors.
A little thermal paste is included with the package as well. The Dark Rock TF LP has been developed with a focus on a perfect ratio of power to noise level. It can cope with a TDP of up to 220 watts.
The cooler will be combined with two new Silent Wings fans fan, a 135-millimetre PWM-version which has airflow-optimised fan blades. It produces a maximum noise level of no more than 26.7 decibels according to the manufacturer.
The cooler has six 6mm heat pipes with aluminum caps. The Dark Rock TF is what is called a "Top Flow" air direction cooler, or top-down). It has six nickel-plated copper pipes with a two-tiered aluminum fin design.
Above, the cooler placed on its back, we can see the base plate. It uses six copper based heat pipes arranged in a U-shaped design with the fan located at the opposing side in the middle. The CPU block is not direct contact, but does appear solid and well-machined with its smooth coldplate.
