Alright, so here we have the unit shipped in. Mint blue and white packaging, no it's not a baby-phone in there :)

Opening up the box you'll notice a very well packaged product. Chances of damage are fairly slim. Included also is a box with power adapter and two CAT6E LAN cables, this NAS unit has two gigabit ethernet jacks.

First impressions, nice looking device in black and grey, I like that. Bundled you'll find everything you need to get started. Power cable, Cat6e Ethernet cables, and of course a driver CD and manual as well as screws to secure the storage units like HDD and SSDs (which you obviously still need to buy). You can also see a remote, for HTPC functionality. This does not come standard with the NAS unit, you can purchase it separately (recommended if you will be using the HTPC feature).

The front side of the AS5102T unit looks a bit monotonous when it's powered off really. You are looking at a drive bay doors. Two drive trays sit behind that lockable front panel which has activity LEDs harbored in it. The AS5102T measures WxDxH 10.8, 23 and 16.35cm. This unit weighs in at roughly 2kg, mainly as the outer casing is metal, which makes this a very sturdy product I must say.
