Photo overview
The screen is matte black, there is very little reflection, albeit the photo does show a tiny bit due to our all-white lit testing grounds. At 32 inches, it is however is a proper screen size for this resolution if you talk pixels per inch.
So yes, whether or not you actually want a 3840x2160 resolution, is another discussion all by itself. The monitor allows the stand to be easily detached so you can fit a VESA-compatible mount of your choice.
Very stylish is the design, you can lower the position of the screen, the lower bezel area is rather thick though and the body of the monitor is also rather thick in depth. A tilt adjustment is offered by the stand. You need to like the RoG styling, of course, that's not for everybody whilst others will love it.
The backside is far more impressive than the front side, design-wise, as mentioned you'll get three HDMI 2.0 and the DisplayPort 1.4 connector. That is a proper-looking monitor right there alright. The back of the case is decorated with a transverse stripe, various textures, and a large ROG logo that, of course, incorporates RGB lighting. The silver-grey base with bronze-colored accents is equipped with ergonomic features such as height adjustment, swivel, and tilt, as well as a separate red lit logo at the top of the back.
The monitor lacks an integrated power supply, which means you'll need to conceal the very bulky power adaptor beneath your desk.
Asus has included a USB port on the top of the display (covered by that rubber insert), which is a little surprising at first. However, the idea for this is that when the mounting hole is combined with the display, game streamers will be able to elegantly attach a camera on the top of the display (which is the hole in the middle). In addition to the top-mounted USB port, there are two additional USB ports located next to the inputs. Weird to see at the top, yes.
