Right so we have to be a little careful as there's nothing we can say about the actual P67 chipset. What we can say is that ASUS CS did its best to bring you guys a very mature and feature rich motherboard alright.
Above the packaging, new design. ASUS is going for simple. Inside it, a P67 motherboard. As you guys know the launch of Intel's Sandy Bridge (mainstream at first) processors is getting closer, and with it unfortunately again comes a new CPU socket (LGA 1155), and thus new motherboard chipsets.
ASUS is working on a few of these motherboards and for the model shown today is making sure that graphics cards solutions work as there are a total of three PCI Express x16 slots, two PCI Express x1 slots, and two PCI slots on the P8P67 Deluxe.
For those wondering if you like to go multi-GPU with three cards, this is possible at a 8:8:4 PCIe lane configuration, that us unfortunately too little bandwidth for modern high end graphics cards. Recommended is a maximum dual-GPU setup in a x8:x8 configuration and if needed you can use the 3rd slot at x4 for Physx or something. Included in the lot is:
-
P8P67 Deluxe user guide
-
DIGI+ VRM and BT GO! user guide
-
Driver disc
-
Four SATA 6Gbps cables
-
Two SATA 3Gbps cables
-
ASUS Q-Shield (rear I/O panel shield)
-
NVIDIA SLI bridge connector
-
2-in-1 ASUS Q-Connector
-
ASUS USB 3.0 front panel box
We'll talk about that a little more on the next pages of course. Bundling wise the Deluxe edition comes with everything need, but also front side USB 3.0 connectivity, a set of USB 3.0 connectors can be led towards the frontpanel with the inclusion of this 3.5" drive bay, very handy and it comes standard with the Deluxe version of the motherboard.
This standard ATX sized motherboard is to be called the P8P67 Deluxe and comes with a 16+2 phase VRM design. The board comes in a stunning black/blue design with heatsinks that make it look like a UFO about to take off.
The motherboard has a lot connectivity on the rear IO panel. Dual Gigabit Ethernet (finally yay!), NEC based USB 3.0 connectors that will bring you a total of four USB 3.0 ports (two for the frontside USB box), next to the eight USB 2.0 ports located at the rear side. We spot Optical and Coaxial TOSLINK S/PDIF audio for eight-channel audio, PS2 mouse/keyboard connector, two eSATA/USB combo connectors and the blue thingy is actually a blue-tooth 2.1 radio supporting ASUS BT GO! overclock utility. Yeah that's tucked full alright, me likey!
