ASUS has been hard at work on their user interface too. The GUI (graphics user interface) is done well, decent on the eyes, mostly black and blue, no screaming logos. We like it.

Being in 1920x1080 you get the high-resolution look and feel of proper HTPC software. Though not extremely fast, menu responsiveness feels fast enough. The menu is divided into Movies, Music, Photos, File Manager and Internet Media.

You browse your media by location or type, while Media Library indexes your files by type, date, genre or artist to name but a few.

Here the Internet Media portal, loads of apps are installed for you, all streaming over your internet connection.

Here a quick run with youtube ... this is all preinstalled. Seeking content is an option, though with the remote, that would be a drag to type in.

The unit also offers on-line functionality such as Picasa, some news feeds and Flickr. Not sure if anyone uses it, but its fun to see and play around with. You can set up and log into your personal accounts for YouTube, Flickr and Picasa, convenient. And yes even paid content delivery as shown above.
