The board has one 8-pin power feed for the processor located just behind the rear IO panel. The Maximus VI Hero is made in the form factor ATX (30.5x24.4cm) the Z87 mobo has four slots for DDR3 memory which you can occupy with up to 32GB of DDR3 DRAM DIMMs. The four DIMM slots have support for dual-channel 1066/1333/1600*/1866*/2000*/2133*(OC), 2200*/2400*/2600*/2667*/2800* with the asterisk marking "when overclocked".

The Maximus VI Hero Z87 is a regular sized ATX. The mobo comes with 10k Black Metallic capacitors, offer a longer lifespan with 10k hours at 105C, and 20% better low temperature endurance - specifically selected for extreme cooling scenarios. The overall choice on components is the best of the best really.
