The GeForce 4060 8GB graphics card is based on NVIDIA's Ampere architecture, which (should) brings performance improvements, energy efficiency, and innovative features compared to its predecessors. This architecture incorporates 2nd generation Ray Tracing Cores and 3rd generation Tensor Cores that enhance real-time ray tracing and AI performance, respectively. The GPU within the GeForce 4060 8GB is the AD107, containing 3072 CUDA cores. These cores are responsible for the processing power of the card, handling the calculations required for rendering graphics, physics simulations, and other computationally heavy tasks.
The GeForce 4060 8GB supports a host of NVIDIA's proprietary technologies, including DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) which uses AI to boost frame rates while maintaining visual quality. It also supports NVIDIA's suite of GeForce technologies such as Ansel for in-game photography, G-Sync for smoother gameplay, and NVLink for connecting multiple GPUs.

The graphics card is equipped with a ventilated backplate and a compact form factor, measuring approximately 23 cm in length. With a weight well under 700 grams, this card is on the lighter side. The heatsink structure is encased in a sleek, dark shroud, ensuring optimal temperature regulation, as demonstrated in the subsequent section
Although the new DP 2.1 standard is not yet incorporated, the RTX 4000 series graphics cards feature HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports, supporting 8K 60 Hz HDR through a single HDMI cable. The card's IO panel includes an air vent with connectors and an aluminum fin stack encased within an alloy frame.
The cards are not equipped with a 12VHPWR power connector header, instead, the standard 8-pin connector(s) are used. Should you get a model with the new 12VHPWR power connector, then it is important to maintain a distance of 3-4cm from the plastic connector and avoid bending the cable too close to it. We expect most board partners to make use of the older 8-pin PWR header.
