Performance - Multi Gig Ethernet LAN
Faster Ethernet is becoming more popular to improve performance. In the future, we'll gradually move away from a 1 Gigabit connection towards 10 Gigabit connections, with 2.5 and 5 Gbps connections also being made accessible as interim jack. For testing purposes, we have invested in a 10 Gigabit network infrastructure. We begin with a Gigabit uplink and then connect to the 2.5, 5 or 10 Gbps networks in order to scientifically analyze the throughput of the network.
We have updated our network infrastructure towards 10 Gigabit per second on our switches and as such can measure performance really well in our lab.
Above you can observe the 2.5 GigE LAN connection performance throughput, this is as good as things can get; 2369 Mbps is 2967 MB/sec of transfer throughput. ASUS makes use of a 1x 2.5GBase-T (Intel I225-V).
