Fan control options/placement

Fan speed is temperature-controlled. The fan RPM range depends on what fan model you use.

Fan control on the ASRock Z790 Taichi can be accessed in the BIOS or ASRock A-Tuning in Windows, allowing users to customize the fan curve profiles for each of the board’s eight 4-pin headers. The ASRock Z790 Taichi provides:

  • 1 x CPU Fan Connector (4-pin)
  • 1 x CPU/Water Pump Fan Connector (4-pin) (Smart Fan Speed Control)
  • 6 x Chassis/Water Pump Fan Connectors (4-pin) (Smart Fan Speed Control)

There are two headers for the CPU fan + opt, and they are placed in the usual spot this time, above the RAM slots, on the top-right side, not near the bottom of the socket area like it was in the Z690 model (and it wasn’t a good idea)

One chassis fan is on the left side of the memory slots.

Three fan connectors are located close to the bottom-right corner of the motherboard.

The last two chassis fan headers are located in the bottom-left part of the motherboard, just below the last (bottom) PCIe slot.
