Page 6 - Pump it baby !

The pumpYou know, I think my neighbor has the same pump for his aquarium... anyhow, it is a Hydor pump that can pump around 12 liters of water per minute. That's quite efficient, still there is an L30 verison. When you start up the pump for the first time don't be scared, it'll be noisy as it removes air from the water circuit.

Standard Hydor L20 II, as in 12 liters per minute. There is a L30-II version available also that can pump 20 per liters per minute. Next to it we see the control unit. This automatically turns on/off the pump depending on if the system is on/off. You hook up the radiator fan and pump to it. From the PSU we connect the small 4-pin FDD power connector which supplies 12V to the control unit.

By moving a jumper on the control unit you can switch the radiator fan from 7 to 12 volts.

Clever, this is a power adapter plug, hook it up to your computers power supply and then the power cord plugs into the adapter.

Radiator
So once we have hooked up all the plastic pipes and secured them tightly towards the cooling blocks, pump, and water reservoir we just need one more essential component. We need to cool down that dsistilled water we are using and that's being done by a system that is no different from the technology used in your car. A radiator. In simple wording, the water will be led through a narrow yet huge network of pipelines, these little pipes are easy to cool down by blowing air over the pipes. The radiator being used in this kit has a Sunon fan mounted on it, which can be switched to a 7 or 12 volt mode depending on what sound level or level of cooling you require. Neither setting is loud in my opinion.

The Black Ice Pro radiator has to be mounted to a huge Sunon fan to make it breathe. On top you can see an in and outflow for the water, to be connected towards tubing with the two ½ OD push-on fittings.

Really, really... yes really silent, especially at 7 volts.
