Any GeForce FX 5900 model will need to be hooked up to your power supply as the AGP post can not deliver enough amps through the AGP port, a simple yet smart solution as the card will be fed by the powersupply directly.

Active cooling is handled by one fan on a huge heatsink which then blows air over the ramsinks.. As you can see it covers both the graphics core and memory. The design is very nice, it's in fact the nVIDIA reference design.
