I wonder how the reference models are going to look like.

Yikes that looks tiny.
It's called being sold a mid-range card for a high end price. Hurrah

That looks quite small for the x70 model
Why? It's a 775 basicly.

Damn, that is small. Maybe they'll do a 970, 980 and 990 ? It prety obvious tis will be a lower power card, 150W ? Won't leave much room for OC either...

These are gonna be good! Can't wait to see some reviews and see how they perform, how they overclock, and how cool they run! Maxwell is the next best thing since sliced bread - a proper step up from Kepler!

They already said so, between a 770 and 780.

Thanks, but I already know the leaks that have been seen. I'm just interested in 100% confirmation, as well as reading about the detailed gaming & overclock performance too, temperatures, power consumption etc. (and 970 was just slightly above 780 from what I remember)

Well the dream is over on the pricing even me caught up in the love whirlwind think they would sell a card rumored to be faster for less

Like the 680 rumor that it was going to be $299. I wound up paying 559 bucks each.
Well I never believed that. High End for less than 300? Even back then that was just a dream, although a nice one 🙂

I have an old Invoice here of the Asus 7800GTX, they cost me €484 each back then. So the prices havn't changed a whole lot. (Still got them aswell, they are in some AMD Athlon 64 FX rig i havn't fired up for 8 years)

Make it an HTPC 😀

AMD is offering amazing gpu's for amazing prices. If you want to pay 150-200 bucks more for a misplaced sense of extra security/comfort w/e, go ahead and suit yourself!

If its at $399 as some speculation suggests, and slightly beats a 780, it will sell good.

Nice marketing skills, how much are they paying ya?

Oh, I can inject SGSSAA and HBAO+ with an AMD card now? Where?! That extra 100-200$ is worth it IMO.

Question is if you also pay to get more problems than with an nVidia card.

Keep in mind that the GTX-970/980's aren't "TRUE" Maxwell cards. They're not built on a 18nm process, because TSMC's production rate was so poor. They would be better named as Maxwell-Lite
That's true, and I think that makes the architecture even more impressive (albeit just in it's own right!), in terms of what they can deliver on 28nm. Maybe they'll shrink it down next year sometime for nearly double the gains!

This. Only the driver issues of some cards and the 14.4 drivers lately would annoy me... pay 500 and get a card I put in and enjoy the performance, or pay 400 and get a card that runs hot, makes my screen go black every other time, and where I am not able to install the drivers... 🙄 I would have seriously considered going for cfx with 290Xs on my next build, but decided against it because of heat and driver issues. Also, I want to enjoy physix and G-Sync as I will get a new monitor with my next rig. Can't get those with AMD, and I surely won't wait for them until they catch up "sometime next year"... I have the money to pay more, so I go for what works best for me with the least troubles expected. That's a personal decision, and I say everybody is to make his own. I don't go flame on the AMD subforum here and brag about how my drivers easily install without any blackscreens...

for that price they can go **** themselves:puke2:
I totally agree with you! If Nvidia continues with the current prices, then i´ll buy an AMD 290... Someone has to explain Nvidia that their cards aren´t made of gold for them to ask those silly prices :\
