Great! IE11 is probably the best browser ive used in the last few years. FF and Chrome are just too bloated and suffer from feature creep, though currently im using FF Light as that has certain addons IE doesnt.
feature "creep"? IE is largest pile of crap I have ever used, which constantly has issues where others don't. Chrome all the way, plenty of addons and with recent x64 support its lightning fast and stable. I fully disagree with you.

If they change too much to shoehorn in metro junk, it won't be any better than 8.0 was on release. Anyway, I use Firefox as it is so they can do whatever the hell they want. It's not like corporates are in any hurry to adopt the latest MS browser. I still have to use IE 8 for a few plugins.

It is rumored that Windows 10 will ship with a new web browser codenamed "Spartan."[/url]
but... This is Madness... 🙂

a lot critic IE, but it is not so crappy, it does what it is intended for and not too bad... (on some point better than the "burning fennec" and the "bling bling metal" i agree) anyway a new browser is a nice thing 🙂

the Internet Explorer name is perfect and it's been with us for so long. just keep it Internet Explorer, no 11, 12 or whatever, put the versions in the builds. job done.

mmm... i don't think we have the same definition of "lightening fast". chrome used to be fast (what make his popularity) but no more since some release... to have it fast you have to start from chromium deposit and cut all the crap, compile and now it is acceptable. ok on linux we get used to do that, ((just a troll about windows despite i use it too sometime lol)).

The only problem with IE is whats between the keyboard and the chair.
This. I moved from Chrome to IE11 when it launched and haven't looked back. Hosts file + IE protection lists = no ads and no crap. It's the fastest browser for me, bugs are very rare now. At launch there were some problems, but I don't have those issues any longer. Firefox is my "backup" browser and I rarely use it. Chrome has become a memory hog and it's no longer the fastest. It's starting to become bloatware. And actually, if you test it on low end machines for more than 5 minutes, it's clearly the slowest out of the three.

Excited to try it when it releases, always liked IE, had more issues with other browsers than it.

Try all browsers with touch screen on Windows and come back to tell us which is lightning fast. Mouse scrolling and static viewing on "common" setup hides the issues, but scrolling by fingers and pinch to zoom really bring the performance issues on FF and Chrome to the light. Not to mention the hundreds of times "fixed" memory leaks in FF.

I also like Internet Explorer. I have to use an old version at work, but I have used newer versions at home on personal computers....as long as you don't go to porn sites and hollywood rumour BS websites that link through facebook and try to run all sorts of scripts etc, you don't get any sort of trouble...and don't install Java. The only reason I use firefox at work is because the company runs all IE traffic through this new filtering thing and I cannot stream radio or change sites without putting in my password.

Issues? IE is probably the most 'compatible' browser there is, I use both Chrome and IE and have no problem saying this. I also find Chrome to be the biggest piece of spyware on my PC, having to run addons to stop it from contacting Google.

Another IE user reporting in. New light browser ? We'll see, not that I was wanting for a new one. Is that new one related to WP browsers in any way ?

I heard about the new web browser form trending topics section on Faccebook. It seems like that MS is going back to their 1999 IE roots when IE was a light browser. I used IE very little when I was doing school related work. But I haven't used IE religiously since IE6. IE is just a pile of crap. No extension support. Yes I know that there is a version of adblock for IE. No way of having a youtube downloader with out installing separate software. Chrome to me is the best out of the box browser because it has flash built in and has html 5 video enabled. Yeah I know that IE has flash built in but not sure that it has HTML 5 video support or not.

On my Windows 8.1 pro tablet I didn't have any performance issues when using chrome using finger zooming gestures.

Nah...
I am forced to use IE8 at work due to some compatibility issues with certain web apps but we also use Chrome so that's all I'm used to. I despise IE8.
And yet you comment IE12 based on experiences with IE8... Which brings me to this: "On my Windows 8.1 pro tablet I didn't have any performance issues when using chrome using finger zooming gestures." Maybe they have fixed it lately 🙂 And in the end: People who had bad experiences with older IE versions tend to be biased against it.

IE was great
It wasn't. It actually got alot better in the past few years. It's time for a better interface though. I use chrome but read my gmail through Outlook 2013 and never login to my Google Account on any website unless really needed. If needed I'll logout as soon as it's no longer needed. Personally I just "want to browse and search the web" without bollox with a decent interface.

I only ever use IE its the most secure browser out there and nothing anyone says is going to change that FACT.
IE is in fact, the LEAST secure browser.... It's better than it has been in previous years, but it still trails behind Chrome and FF in security.

IE11 its already good enough for me, it only needs a night/reading/dark mode whatever, like it does on WP, hell the entire OS needs a dark mode lol, but if this new version its just a way to get rid of the bad reputation and add niceties like addons, why the hell not? and I keep liking the halo references, I think Microsoft should think of its products as a whole, a single tree with lots of fruits

Tell that to a cross site attack script, maybe such a script will believe your story.....

There is a reason why large multinational companies still use IE8 or IE9 🙂 I work for 2 companies and both use these 2 versions, which I personally dislike. Several crashes during work sessions, performance issues etc. So I use IE only for business and for all personal stuff - Chrome all the way 🙂
