Can you decide what appears in the "All Apps" menu now and what doesn't and sort entries in the "All Apps" menu in folders and subfolders yet?

So hate the new UI compared to Windows 7 Aero.

The recent changes look great! They can ship it now.
All apps shows all apps sorted alphabetically.
The main Start Menu allows you pinning, grouping, and ordering.

Hasn't happened in Australia yet
Still on build 10122

That start menu is still just laughable, why does MS even bother..
Don't like that they made the apps with white/grey background schemes either.
But going Windows 10 regardless, will mod the **** out of it though.

Hm can we switch back to the fullscreen start menu?
I mean I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to the old start menu, not when I have so much space in the metro interface. The Debian default GUI's 'start menu' also does something similar and I think it's brilliant. And I accepted the metro interface easily. It's like having 2 desktops worth of shortcuts.

That ugly recycle bin icon...
They should make a ModernUI style flat icon.

Aero looks horrid tbh. I like the clean slate look of w8.1 and forwards. Now they should put the start screen back as the way it was in 8.1 or at least the all apps to be expandable. The start menu seems decent but the fullscreen mode seems like utter crap now.

Same old rubbish file requester. Same old rubbish Explorer window. I mean it's a joke at this stage. They can change icons all they like but they haven't actually improved the main functionality at all in donkeys years. I mean I had much better versions of "Explorer" functionality and the file requester 25 years ago on my Amiga 1200 FFS!!! I couldn't believe how bad the functionality was when I went from A1200 to Pentium PC all those years ago and I can't believe the same **** is still there now. It's a classic case of the PC heads and the younger crowd not actually having seen anything better in their lives so presume this is the standard...

I tried to give Metro and its 'apps' a try but I couldn't really stand it. Not only was it unnecessary (really, you need to take me to an entirely different screen when I only want to click on one item or search for it?) but the default apps were the worst. By default it opened PDF's in some app that basically took your entire screen. Really? You didn't think I'd want to multi-task, you'd just go straight to that?
I don't even.

I'm really amazed at how many posts are for the old windows start screen...You really feel it's necessary for something to take over your ENTIRE screen just because you were trying to open some other program up?
Why? it's not necessary.
When i want to go to control panel, i want to click the start button, and hit control panel. That's it. And i want control panel to appear as a window i can move around and still use everything else i'm doing aswell. I DON'T want to hit the start button, have my entire screen be hijacked, to then press control panel, and some BS simplified nonsense show on my screen taking over my entire screen.
Could i bypass that by putting icons and folders on my desktop? sure, i guess, but i'm not into cluttering my desktop with tens to hundreds of icons, not when the start button has most everything i need in it already there ready for me without much need to organize it myself.
And thankfully, unless they have decided to can this idea too, i will be able to disable the horrid "squares" and just mostly have the start button back...
