Undying
It will sell out faster than 3080.

I ordered the 3080 Strix OC on the day of release, a half hour after selling started.
I'm still waiting for the card. Payment already made and zero indication as to when I'll get it.

Due to the cheaper price this card should be more popular than the 3080 thus creating even longer queues. Imagine waiting several months for your card.
If AMD has sufficient supply of the 6000 series they'll own this release, no doubt about that. Now it's up to game devs to add better support for AMD GPUs.

This is crunch time. AMD will be showing off their new Big Navi cards 1 day before the RTX 3070 releases. Nvidia cannot afford any more frak-ups.

imagine I'm an AIB like iColor :
would I send my card to a reviewer for a coverage that nobody cares about because they can't buy ? NO
would I send my card to a reviewer in the hope that someone might look for a 6-12 month old review of my product ? NO
would I "stay the course" with a release roadmap for a product that will not be made and cannot be sold ? NO
would I keep my card review for actual availability and put it in front of the news even if it's inferior ? YES because it will translate into sales
this whole mess is totally in line with the 2010+ "crapification" of everything with incompetent managers taking horrible business destroying decisions, this will not end well for many companies
I truly hope AMD will have proper availability, Nvidia needs a lesson like Intel

AMD has a free pass on this gen of initial GPU releases. If performance is competitive, all they need is enough stock to fill Xmas demand and will be a good first step to regaining market share and GPU reputation.

Human Eye can't see RTX 2070 🙄
Stairmand
As a system builder, so far i've had 1 3090 from MSI and 2 x 3080's from Gigabyte. That's it.
I've had no cards from Asus at all.

Hopefully Navi has good availability and performance, and nVidia take a kicking. Shocking numbers

The question is what's the point of having different models of cards in the early days?
If you produced all founders cards, they would go just as fast.
I was at a Microcenter a few days ago at opening. There was a line of about 40-50 people that had waited since the night before.
The manager came out and handed the first 10 or so people in line a slip to claim a card. One was for the 3090, the others for a 3080.
When inside they got to choose between 2 different 3080 cards. It didn't matter what model, the people just wanted one.

Samsung wafers 🙂

Why have problems with the fabrication ? covid -19 responsible ? or other problem ?

Assuming Samsung's production rate of wafers for Nvidia is roughly the same as it would have been with TSMC, this must mean their yields are really bad. Seeing as the 3060Ti is going to have similar specs to the 3070, I doubt there is going to many of those available to buy either.
If the 3060 (non-Ti) ends up with low availability, I have a feeling Samsung just simply isn't producing a lot of wafers, because there's no way their yields could be that disastrously bad since Nvidia otherwise wouldn't have made the contract (unless of course Samsung lied).

What's the normal stock amounts for past launches? Do we have info on that? How many 1080's did this etailer get at this point prior to launch? 2080s?
People keep looking at these numbers and saying "it's so low" but I haven't see comparisons to any previous launches at all.
