People are spending 1,300$ on the gaming monitors and here comes the ViewSonic with 150$ 😀

Its a VA panel in todays OLED world thats the catch.

No way this is so cheap. VA or not, and by the way i think VA get too much hate, this price is insane.

Although I think this makes for a great product for PC gamers on a budget I'd personally never buy a VA panel again; I've learned my lesson through my previous MSI Optix monitor which was otherwise great but ruined dark games for me. Even the infamous Samsung Odyssey G7 is not totally void of that dreaded black smearing. If you don't have the dough for an OLED you'd better get an IPS panel at least. The supposedly superior to IPS contrast ratio of VA panels looks only good on paper.

Difference isnt so big and IPS suffers from backlight bleed and glow alot more. IPS - OLED - VA https://i.pilt.io/images/2024/08/23/G8Jqn.png

An 8 bit VA that's 1440p at 31.5".

IMO it comes down partly to build quality and partly to personal preference. The photo might overemphasize the backlight bleed but from what I can tell my Acer Predator IPS has better uniformity than both the IPS and VA panels in your picture. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I used it for the first time and I'm very happy with the purchase. Obviously you will notice the backlight, especially when viewing with the lights off, but that still bothers me way less than VA black smearing.

Glow and bleed I will take em any time of the day over VA dark smearing , at least for me the smearing is unbearable .

That top bezel is extra tiny. Could make for a good size square display if they're both stacked vertically. Only problem? You have a bezel(even though small) right through the middle. But, at this point, for 450$, you could go for vertical threesome(a vertical trio!!) and not even complain about thiccness inconvenience!
